- You are most welcome to join us, with your friends and your musical instruments, for a weekly Fireside at 7:30 PM. The Firesides begin with a brief devotional, followed by a 30-45 minute presentation and some discussion. They conclude with refreshments and music when we have musicians present!
This Friday we will have Irene Wellman with us who will speak on the subject of: "Poetry of the Sacred."
Irene (Rene) is a writer and poet and has taught in the New Hampshire School system for 20 years as a reading teacher and specialist. She has two Masters in the field of education but is now retired and pursuing her dream of developing her knowledge of poetry and prose writing. She edited and produced an annual student literary magazine for the schools where she taught, has given many poetry readings, and has been published in several small literary magazines. She was associate editor of the magazine, O.ARS. She lives in Charlottesville and is pleased to be able to talk about her favorite subject-- poetic language as an instrument of our understanding of the sacred and spiritual.
